Highway Only Way - the idea came about from the profound thinking of a group of travel freaks from the Land of the Nizams, who wanted to find the way to attain nirvana - “HOW”? they asked and then wisdom dawned on them that their answer lay in their question. HOW? the answer was Highway - the Only Way !!
Thus enlightened, they decided to get their wheels rolling on the highs and lows of the roadways of the land of India, a land of ancient thinkers and travelers who kept thinking so much that their future generations finally lost their minds !! Keeping up with all those great traditions, this group sets off on the roads, sometimes on the classy highways, sometimes on the savage dirt tracks, whatever the road, their great achievement is their ability to lose their way but then what is life, if not a journey where you lose and find your way!
“Yet all experience is an arch wherethro’
Gleams that untravell’d world whose margin fades
For ever and for ever when I move.” - Alfred Tennyson
At the sound of the clarion, the cars, the smart phones, the google maps - their ever ready partners in crime rev up for the action and it is a new journey every time !
It’s all ours and only ours !

Hi Team, I appreciate your team’s sincere efforts in describing your visit to Pothana Village - Bammera. I have been thinking to visit Bammera personally sometime soon, and the information shared by you in the blog post will help me immensely. Thanks for doing the much-needed groundwork and making our lives easy!.
Thank you ! Please visit the great poet’s birth place and honour our literary legacy.
I have come across your travel blog, while checking for a travelogue on Ahobilam and got addicted and completed reading each of your 210 pages of travel stories in a period of 4 days. I appreciate the determination you have displayed in visiting places across lower half of our country in a short period of a little over six and half years.
I enjoyed reading your travel accounts which were lucid yet contained details.
I wish you should cover the northern half of India in the years to come, enjoy your drives thoroughly and wish you good luck in your journeys. I presume you are from the IT sector.
Happy and Safe driving.

Friends-
I am planning a solo road trip from Pune to Bhubaneswar on 3rd DEC 2016.
Day 1-
Early start from pune (around 4 AM ) and halt of the day at Vijaywada
Day2- Early start from Vijaywada to Bhubaneswar
please suggest on the plan / idea stop for food and budget hotels to stay near NH9 and NH5.
Pune to Hyderabad after Solapur, we heard is not too great but if you take the Gulbarga-Hyderabad route, you should be fine. Hyderabad to Vijayawada is a smooth drive. You have good food options at Narketpally, Suryapet till Vijayawada. Stop at 7 Food Court at Suryapet for a break, the place is one the best highway food joints.
For hotels at Vijayawada, you could check OYO rooms for good deals, If you want to stay near NH5 looks for hotels near Benz Circle or Eluru Road. You can also look at AP Tourism’s Berm Park Hotel near the Krishna River which is bang on the highway between Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
Between Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam, you can take a break at Rajamundry, the Godavari River view is too good to miss. Also, take a break at Annavaram enroute Vishakapatnam and try the Annavaram Satyanarayana Temple prasad.
Hope this info is of some use, happy travelling !

Planning to go to Chennai and then to Pondi on May 25, 2016 by Road. Saw a post, just wanted to check road conditions..
Hyderabad to Chennai? Good road conditions throughout via NAM expressway and NH5. Chennai-Pondi on ECR, you might face some traffic especially on weekends. Otherwise road conditions are good.
wanted to drive by car from bangalore to trichy only on highway
nice Description about place and wonderful journey,,,,……….wow………………i love it…….
Thank you !
Hi HOW team,
You guys “ROCK”… Keep it up guys… I was planning for a trip to Srisailam but was contemplating if I can drive car on the ghat road. Is it possible to give a little more tips on navigating ghats for people like me who never drove on ghat roads…
However, after reading your article https://highwayonlyway.com/tag/srisailam-ghat-road/ I slowly getting confidence that I can manage the ghat road.
I have read couple of more posts in your site and are really helpful. Kudos to all the team… Keep more articles added…
Thank you so much ! Such encouraging comments keep inspiring us to travel more 🙂 Srisailam Ghat is relatively easy to drive, hardly any hairpin bends, in fact, if you are driving from Hyderabad, it doesn’t feel like a ghat road. Simple tip would be to drive slowly, keep to the left, let other spass you and if you are turning at a bend, go slow, honk and look out for vehicles in the opposite direction. Have a great trip !
hey buddies.. no new trips so far…!!!! tell me your recent trip details and posts.
its an eye opener for us I am planning to visit with my parents… my flight is rescheudled at would be reaching at 6 pm to hyd… how much time will it take to reach “Sri Sellam”i was told that gate are closed in the night…please guide me.. as I would be visitng with my parents who are senior citizen.
Srisailam Ghat road is closed from 9 PM to 6 AM. So if you reach Hyderabad at 6 PM, it is advisable to start to Srisailam early next morning. It is a 4-5 hour drive from Hyderabad to Srisailam. The temple is open from 4 AM to 12.30 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM. You can find accommodation availability and other information at the Srisailam Temple website. Hope this helps.
